There’s nothing I love more than getting lost in a good story, but many times I put a fictional book aside because it lacks substance and depth. Candace Murrow’s books survive this test, holding my avid attention to the end.
Transition is a theme that weaves through each story. The major players come alive and evolve as they deal with changes that unfold in a plot which twists and turns in surprising and mysterious ways. The characters are consistently interesting, often quirky, and so believable I feel like I am eavesdropping in on a juicy conversation.
Reading one of Murrow’s stories is more than a great escape. She brilliantly conveys an underlying message of the deeper mystery of how unseen forces support our growth if we accept and allow change in our lives. When I reluctantly come to the end of the book, I am left with a fondness for the characters, the satisfaction of a story well told, and renewed faith in the magic of an expanding universe.

A short, sweet fantasy/adventure novel (with metaphysical overtones) for ages 10 and up, adults included
I read your book cover to cover in one sitting. I don't remember taking a single breath through all 20 warp speed chapters. ZAK is rightly intended for younger readers. Yet his heliocentric adventures - complete with a compassionate cast of earthbound and mystical characters - enabled me to revisit some of my fondest childhood memories.
